If you are considering a bespoke trial then consider Sonardyne Plymouth.
We are located in the south west and offers locations from shallow brackish river waters to deep offshore sites and everything in-between, including protected coastal harbour waters, deep and shallow wreck sites and a varied array of seabed substrates.
We have extensive experience in operating alongside outside agencies & companies as part of the offshore industry and independent manufacturers. This has enabled us to develop vessels and procedures to accommodate non-specific Sonardyne equipment.
Having experience in all manner of subsea & surface operations, the team at Plymouth can tailor your trial to your needs, assisting with planning, coordinating the logistics and manage your safety to allow you to focus on your job and achieve the best use of the time available. To ensure the best possible accuracy, sub-metre absolute accuracy, we have Real Time Kinematic (RTK) corrections transmitted by our own base station.
We also have available a boat store for secure and protected preparation of equipment if required. This boat store is also supported by a workshop for last minute preps, offices for planning and accommodation should that be necessary. Whether you require vessels for AUV/ ASV deployment, surveying and diving operations or a platform for training & educational purposes we can advise, co-ordinate and plan. The building has its own slipway and pier so that easy loading/ unloading of equipment and personnel can take place as required.
To facilitate our trials, testing and training, we now have two 12 metre catamarans (Echo Explorer and Sound Surveyor) based in Mayflower Marina that have been specifically designed and built to operate as survey class vessels and certified to MCA category 2. Along with these boats we also have Val B, a fully equipped floating classroom and static test facility with 2 permanently deployed subsea transponder arrays on the sea floor. This protected arrangement gives us the freedom to operate whatever the weather.
